[[Hello and welcome to another fantastically manly Alex Louis Armstrong broadcast! Today, we're starting with a scintillating view of our (shirtless, of course) hero, standing just on the outskirts of Violet City.

Faced with a snarling Garchomp.

...make that a snarling and charging Garchomp, as the beast rockets forward, claws out, ready to barrel into Armstrong....!

...who promptly moves to the side with speed that a man of his size simply shouldn't possess, lightly knocking the Garchomp's strikes away with his fists. Screeching, she pivots sharply and swings her tail toward him, but that too is avoided with apparent ease. Tensing, Armstrong lands a good uppercut on the Garchomp's chin before finishing with a firm strike to her chest. The Garchomp, stunned, crashes to the ground, prompting her trainer to laugh loudly.]]

Your technique is improving, Zahna! A few more sessions like this and even I, Alex Louis Armstrong, will stand no chance against you!

[[Harsh demeanor gone, the (obviously unhurt; Armstrong isn't aiming to injure) Garchomp pushes herself to her feet, looking at her trainer with wide, almost reverent eyes, nodding at everything he's saying. It's clear, however, that she doesn't quite believe she'll ever be able to beat him in battle.

Turning back to the camera, Armstrong moves to switch off the feed, but behind him Zahna sneaks forward, obviously seeing if a sneak attack will work. She leaps....!

....and is immediately intercepted and hurled over Armstrong's shoulder, landing off-screen with a rather firm thud.]]

Attacking a man from behind is not honourable, my dear!

It's important to keep up with your training, regardless of your location though. It would be good to have an actual human sparring partner though.

It would indeed! I've been trying to convince my travelling partner to join me in my training, but he is proving to be most stubborn. I believe he fears my technique could overwhelm him...

How long? Oh, almost ten months! I arrived in the middle of January. Yourself, Miss Rockbell?

[[Hard to believe it's been such a long time! He's almost proud of himself, even though he's lost some friends along the way.]]

But yes, you'll find that your Riolu will only evolve if you treat her well, and don't give her any reason to dislike you as a trainer! But Pokemon have a natural affinity for trainers who treat them well, so I'd say you have no need to worry about that!

Whatever gym you've got a membership at, I wanna join.

[That makes her frown.] I guess we missed each other by a few days, or so, then as this is my second time here. I left around the middle of January and returned in May. [You might have said hi at that time, but anyway!] But I was here for about six and half months before. [And you can count months from May to this day!

She laughs.]

Hey, I always treat all of my pokemon well, though we have some disagreements every now and then... No relationships without them, right? She doesn't look offended about spending a really long time on the PC Box either. Well, it's not like I meant to keep her there, but... Anyway, she'll be great.

What an absolute shame.

I'm afraid I'll have to decline. I have several prior arrangements in place, so I doubt I'll have the opportunity to engage in that kind of training.

More that you just flipped a Garchomp over your shoulder like it was nothing. You're one of the few others I've seen actually spar with their Pokemon, while having them all out charge like that.

[While Ven trains with his team too, it's more of a dodging contest than anything else, so seeing how strong this guy is...]

Gosh, you're even bigger than Terra, Mr Armstrong.

Ah, it does break my heart that most other trainers choose to stand on the sidelines while their Pokemon train! I believe that a beautiful body should house a beautiful mind, a team in perfect unison...why not train alongside your Pokemon so you too can achieve the ultimate level of strength and finesse....?!

Yeah. I do have to keep a few others on standby in case of injury though; my Charizard has a tendency to overdo things. He broke my shoulder once. [So not a big deal though; it's all part of learning.]
